- Enhance Audit Function
- Execute and supervise audit coverage strategy of business activities, management functions, and attendant risks
- Contribute to US-wide audit risk assessments for business activities and management functions
- Design and ensure implementation of testing of controls of business activities and management functions
- Execute assigned audit programs and review auditor workpapers covering planning and fieldwork
- Ensure the delivery of audit reports and Internal Audit feedback that is complete, insightful, and timely
- Oversee and Report Correction
- Evaluate management action plans to ensure they adequately address the audit issue raised
- Direct and/or perform issue tracking and risk-based validation issues specific to business activities and management functions
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to identify emerging issues and distill thematic or systemic control issues affecting the US operation
- Audit Strategy and Program
- Design and ensure implementation of continuous monitoring of business activities and management functions and attendant risks
- Collect and analyze information in designed areas from regulators, Head Office and other branches.
- Revise audit work programs and support update of risk assessment and audit plans in timely manner
- Improve Audit Toolset
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in accounting, finance, or business discipline is required
- 5-7 years' of work experience in a control, risk, or audit role related to business operations/management
- Experience in applying or evaluating the efficacy of control frameworks of US bank regulatory standards, heightened expectations of the OCC, enhanced prudential standards of the Federal Reserve System, among others related to banking activities
- Subject matter expertise in retail or commercial banking activities, with particular emphasis on experience in trade finance, commercial real estate, correspondent banking for a medium to large financial institution
- Proven capability in executing multiple deliverables preferably within a highly matrixed structure where planning, management and strong interpersonal skills were critical to success
- Experience in ensuring documentary sufficiency analytical procedures to support audit standards and bank regulatory expectations
- Solid understanding of market, credit, and operational risks from a control and mitigation perspective
- Experience using computer assisted auditing tools or performing computer modeling to evaluate assertions
- Familiar with risk applications and metrics for retail and commercial banking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management and to build rapport with internal stakeholders and external examiners
- CPA, CIA, and CFA are preferred
