Primary duties consist of, but not limited to:
- Conduct analysis and make investment recommendations focusing in the Life Sciences/Cannabis sector with a desire to broaden the platform to thematic research and thought leadership.
- Monitoring capital markets and broader Life Sciences industry trends valuable to investment decision making.
- Foster relationships with covered companies and facilitate client access to management teams.
- Develop accurate financial models and publish investment theses based on fundamental valuation methodologies.
- Willingness to travel (marketing to buy-side clients) and self-motivated to sell investment ideas to clients via phone.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A University degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Mathematics.
- 5 years previous experience as an Analyst in capital markets or consumer products.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and analysis as well as broader capital markets.
- CFA or equivalent
- FINRA Licenced (completed Series 86, 87 and Series 7 or equivalent)
- Professional designations are an asset but not required.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Strong written and presentation skills with ability to concisely articulate investment ideas.
- Highly self-motivated with desire to provide timely analysis which is forward thinking and independent without direct supervision.
- Able to work within a team environment for extended hours.
