Job Summary:
NEPC’s Research Team is responsible for identifying and monitoring superior investment managers and strategies, for researching various investment topics of interest to our clients, and for communicating our research and recommendations internally and externally. The Research Analyst/Senior Research Analyst will have responsibility for following and evaluating investment managers across various public markets asset classes, conducting ad hoc research studies as the need arises and sourcing new investment ideas within the assigned area of coverage. This person will be responsible for gathering market information, developing materials for internal and external market updates, and responding to client specific requests.
Job Requirements:
Investment experience as an asset allocator, investment manager, or investment consultant is preferred. Candidates should have a broad understanding of investment strategies across public markets asset classes and have a developed network with investment management community. The most important qualifications are intellectual curiosity, work ethic, attention to detail, second-level thinking, and the ability to marry quantitative and qualitative frameworks to form investment recommendations.
Highly developed computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint is required. Qualified individuals must be comfortable with quantitative analysis, have outstanding writing skills and be comfortable with creating and giving professional oral presentations to colleagues and clients. Must be detail oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multiple-task environment. College degree required. Advanced degree and/or the CFA and/or CAIA designations (or progress toward these credentials) is highly valued. Working knowledge of FactSet, RMS and eVestment is a plus. It is expected that this individual be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
