Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Job Title: Analyst, Investor Relations
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to: Manager, Investor Relations
The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.
Purpose:
The Analyst, Investor Relations will assist in the development and implementation of strategies to increase awareness of the Company within the investment community. This role will support the investor relations team in all facets of their daily activities and will also participate in special projects requested by the senior management team.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
- Assist in developing strategies to increase awareness of the company within the investment community
- Support the team in developing/preparing IR materials during quarterly reporting and annual general meeting preparation in addition to other ad hoc projects requested by senior management or the Board
- Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of Crescent Point’s business and its operating and financial results
- Work with internal teams, including engineers, to better understand Crescent Point’s strengths in the marketplace
- Monitor and provide analysis on market trends, share ownership and performance relative to peers
- Build and maintain relationships with external parties, including sell-side research analysts
- Maintain and augment IR database containing peer, industry and shareholder information
- Respond to analyst and investor requests in a timely manner
- Keep up with current industry, government and governance trends
- Stay on top of industry trends within investor relations for best practices
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- CFA or an accounting designation would be an asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience dealing with the investment community in an IR or analytical role, with an emphasis on energy is required
- Excellent work ethic with a strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy with high quality standards and ability to self-review
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate key investment themes is required
- Ability to understand and prioritize all aspects of the Company’s business, including financial and technical aspects
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Must be highly motivated with strategic and critical thinking skills
- Ability to confidently interact with all levels of management and external investment professionals
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and comfortable accepting new responsibilities
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality where required
- Experience and knowledge of tools such as Bloomberg, DocFinder, IPREO is an asset
- Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
