The Role:
S&P Global Market Intelligence's Product Specialist organization supports S&P Global's objective of building and delivering integrated data, research, and analytic solutions to our clients globally. You will support the New Business and Relationship Manager efforts, as it applies to the Leveraged Commentary & Data solution. Significant knowledge of Leveraged Commentary & Data will be monetized and demonstrated to serve a variety of professionals in segments such as, but not limited to, Investment Management, Investment Banking, Insurance, Government and Law firms.
The solution contains news, data, and analytics from Leveraged Commentary & Data (LCD) with cross-functional capabilities connecting to solutions such as CreditPro, Ratings Direct, and Capital IQ. This role drives revenue growth by working with Sales, Relationship Managers, Product Management, and Global Product Specialists.

The Impact:
As a member of the commercial organization, are a client-facing representative for S&P Global Market Intelligence. You will have direct impact on pre-sale and early-stage diagnostic conversations that validate and further qualify or advance new sales leads. Dedicated engagement and strategic account planning with Relationship Managers on client retention and renewals will also be significant. You will drive the product success and sales growth globally and will be accountable for assisting sales in any complex and strategic opportunities.

Specific Responsibilities:
As a true 'subject matter expert' you will be tasked with speaking to and demonstrating product attributes while leading on-site and virtual meetings/calls. Understanding prospect/client personas and workflows and quickly connecting to real-world, practical use cases during these meetings is critical.
Operate in partnership with Sales professionals (Sales Executives and Relationship Managers) on all aspects of the commercialization and licensing of Ratings IP and proprietary MI credit models.
Leading or contributing to diagnostic and discovery conversations with prospects and listen for or uncover whitespace opportunities within existing clients.
Provide mentorship and support throughout the entire sales cycle; contributions may include product positioning to pre-sale trial training as well as advice to Sales professionals on pricing, packaging or entitlements.
Support client renewal conversations and convey value proposition to validate proposed price increases; promote product usage via training sessions and other standard methodology demonstrations for existing clients.
Responsible for developing campaigns and strategic initiatives for driving revenue growth for segment-specific sales and assisting in client retention work for credit products.
Develops and implements enhancement initiatives and standardizes strategies to improve sales revenues. Leads collaboration with commercial, product and other functional partners.
Ensures the alignment of team efforts to sales strategy and client retention. Stays well-connected to strategic customers in the market.
Serves as an expert across functional groups. Collaborates internally to design and deliver training across functional teams.
Partner closely with other internal stakeholders, such as Product Management, Legal and Client Support teams; additionally other Credit Product Specialists serving in a similar capacity in EMEA and APAC regions.
Be mindful of other Market Intelligence products, identify and relay other product and cross-sell opportunities while supporting the mandate of the broader Credit Product Specialist team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business, corporate finance, commerce or related subjects; MBA, CFA will be a plus.
3 to 5 years relevant industry, experience and a proven track record in a product, consultative sales or other market data related role
Strong commercial mindset with prior experience selling to, speaking to or in the capacity of targeted personas or firms
Comprehensive understanding of Leveraged Finance markets gained via experience at financial institution, asset manager or financial data/technology firm
Constructive and flexible teammate, capable of balancing and prioritizing multiple projects across different teams or business segments
Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiation skills
Confidence in meetings, presentations and interacting with senior executives and decision makers over the phone or in person
An ability to learn, approach challenges creatively and possesses intellectual curiosity
Independent, self-starter capable of working without close supervision or daily mentorship
Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce
Some travel (domestic) will be necessary
