Role Description:

We are looking to hire an Analyst / Associate for our Global Capital Markets (GCM) team with a focus on Asia-Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, the hire will be working in a syndicate function across the equity and debt capital markets to help create investment opportunities and manage the new issue process for BlackRock investment teams. The GCM team's objective is to enhance investment performance and to maximize the deployment of investment capital against attractive opportunities in the primary market.

The individual will have responsibility for becoming proficient in core business functions in order to execute client and partner facing activities. This position will manage the new issue process across equity and debt, which will require daily communication with the sell-side (investment banks) and regular dialogue with all of BlackRock's investment teams. Critical to individual success will be a willingness to take initiative, originate action and be responsible for consequent decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Fundamental and technical analysis to drive investment idea generation
  • Communicate daily with the sell-side (investment banks) and all of BlackRock's investment teams on new deal launches across equity and debt
  • Build relationships with investment teams in assessing opportunities and aggregating thoughts across the BlackRock platform
  • Engage Investment Banks to obtain best outcome / allocations

Requirements/Skills:
  • Self-starting and an ability to multi-task in a time sensitive, fast paced environment; attention to detail mandatory
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (including preparation of presentations)
  • Proficient technology orientation (Strong Excel skills required; the following a plus: VBA, SQL, & Tableau)
  • Experience: 2 - 4 year experience in a relevant role in finance
  • CFA is a plus
