Job Description

We are seeking a Product Strategist to support growth of the Latin America Client Portfolio Solutions (CPS) business across Mexico, South America and the offshore business, spanning both retail and institutional clients. The role will focus on client servicing and promoting knowledge transfer to Latin American clients. The selected candidate will lead the effort to articulate and communicate investment communication to LatAm clients. The role will serve as a bridge between the Portfolio Management and Research team and clients, with specific focus on technical investment topics and market views. In addition to this, the candidate will also help drive sales through more technical analysis and data and ultimately can grow into a business development role. Rooted in BlackRock's longstanding culture of objective problem-solving, the strategy team collaborates with teams around the firm to provide holistic portfolio and risk solutions to some of our most sophisticated clients.

Responsibilities :

Investment strategy, client servicing, knowledge transfer and analytics :
  • Be able to enhance the current servicing process with current and future clients
  • Own periodic knowledge transfer with current and future Latin American clients. Drive knowledge transfer through client calls, webinars, in-person visits, market commentaries, podcasts and research papers. Additionally, be able to present to large audiences (e.g., conferences and media) and senior technical audiences (e.g., CIOs)
    • Strong technical skills are a must; background in macroeconomics, capital markets, equity or fixed income research, statistics, econometrics or other technical disciplines desired
    • Excellent understanding of financial markets and drivers of valuation and returns on major asset classes. Multi-asset team experience is a plus
    • Excellent written communication skills with experience of writing about markets and investment concepts
    • Excellent presentation skills and executive presence. Must demonstrate the ability to deliver impactful, technical and influential commentaries
    • Media and large audience presentation experience is strongly preferred
  • The purpose of the role is to translate the Portfolio Management views and research into clear exposition, using well written text and supporting data, and to convert clients and advisors - into engaged, educated and confident users of BlackRock's model portfolios. Additionally, work closely with the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) to bring its message to our clients. Be able to relate BII's views to our model portfolios' allocations. Generate relevant investment content on topics that position interesting insights to our clients
  • Engage in periodic Portfolio Management discussions about portfolio positions, ask questions and serve as a "voice of the client" to the PMs. Be able to identify trends and help in product development efforts
  • Partner with Distribution partners to design and drive a broad client investment education program
    • Build broad awareness and establish BlackRock as the leading thought leader and solution provider
    • Increase confidence and loyalty of existing model users - internally and externally
  • Drive sales through analysis. Partner with MAPIC, Aladdin and Alternatives teams to deliver thorough analysis that potentially will drive additional business. Work as a liaison between internal teams
  • Partner and work closely with the LatAm Strategy Team to explore new potential businesses. Work on mapping the asset management industry in the region in order to drive proactive selling to local asset managers where they lack of international asset allocation solutions
  • Support OCIO services in Latin America
  • Support day-to-day client and sales requests. Create presentations and materials at a wide range of formats


Business Development and Relationship Management:
  • Help to drive new business in the Latam region; develop leads
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients, in particular Sales, Marketing, Strategy, CPS, MPS and MAPIC team members
  • Manage occasional strategic, marketing support or operational projects to enhance the business and process
  • Coordinate with, share ideas and best practices with, and support strategists in other regions
  • Undertake comprehensive due diligence on each potential client opportunity


Qualifications/Skills:
  • BA/BS required. CFA / CAIA / CFP, or progress towards, is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in an asset management or financial management company in an analytical or sales position
  • Spanish speaking and writing is required; Portuguese a plus
  • Strong markets expertise
  • Strong attention to detail and process; Highly professional, organized and committed to excellence;
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Strong research and writing skills: Ability to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes
  • Comfort in presentation formats ranging from webex to in-person presentations
  • Ability to creatively and proactively support MAS's client relationship management and capital raising activities in LatAm
  • Collaborative approach to tasks and readiness for people leadership
  • Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition, attention to detail, drive for perfection
  • Curious to challenge the status quo, as well as the quality and accuracy of information
