  • Provide investment expertise in the form of information, knowledge and support to Plan Sponsors
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned clients as it relates to their investment fund line-ups offered to their employees
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of all partner investment managers with the purpose of understanding and communicating with plan sponsors on issues relating to investment compliance and performance
  • Prepare and deliver investment review sessions for plan sponsor pension committees to better understand fund performance, trends in the markets, and help set objectives and actions for obtaining them
  • Ensure Plan Sponsors understand their responsibilities and how best they can meet them
  • Provide clients with regular updates on changes in services, funds and regulations as they relate to plan sponsor governance responsibilities
  • Educate Plan Sponsors on changes in guidelines and legislation governing investment funds (CAP Guidelines, Privacy, SEC rulings)
  • Participate in sales short list presentations to leverage the benefits of Core Investment Platform and related services to support the sale
  • Lead divisional education efforts to build the investment expertise of staff to improve client servicing
  • Present at industry conferences, teach industry courses, write articles for trade publications and participate in industry working groups and conferences
  • Fully bilingual (French and English)
  • In-depth knowledge of group defined contribution industry in Canada
  • In-depth knowledge of investment management styles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of investment managers participating in Core Investment Platform
  • Knowledge of investment governance issues in Canada
  • Knowledge of investment legislation, including pension investment regulations and the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Act
  • Knowledge of investment disclosure standards as they relate to pension investments
  • Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to present complex topics in simple terms
  • Minimum five years industry experience
  • University education, preferably in commerce, finance or business administration
  • Completion of professional investment accreditation program (e.g. CFA or CFP) is preferred
