Manulife Asset Management (MAM) is the asset management division of Manulife Financial Corporation. Accountability Statement

The incumbent will work closely with the portfolio managers in the Asia Fixed Income team based in Hong Kong. The incumbent will be assisting the portfolio managers and generating required analysis including but not limited to credit, fx, and rates market in Asia. The incumbent is also required to understand the desk strategies and be able to provide support including quantitative analysis and supporting administrative function. The role will develop a career path to become a senior Desk Analyst.

Responsibilities
  • Quantitatively analyze large data sets for investment research;
  • Perform portfolio analytics and develop reports for investment meetings;
  • Conduct performance analysis and attribution;
  • Develop tools to enhance the portfolio management process;
  • Liaise with different teams in the company on portfolio issues;
  • Research in Asia macro and credit developments;
  • Provide all other necessary administrative support to portfolio managers;

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education
  • University qualification with degree in Business, Finance or related subject preferred. Candidates working towards a CFA will be a plus.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in related industry. Exposure in front office business would be preferred. Candidates from other disciplines will be considered. Buy-side background is optional;
  • Knowledge and relevant experience in fixed income markets in Asia would be preferred;
  • Passionate in investment management and financial markets. Possess strong desire to become a Portfolio Manager;
  • Strong technical orientation in excel (VBA, macro). Strong analytical skills, numerical aptitude, interpersonal and communication skills are required;
  • Great attention to details and able to work independently with limited supervision;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Cantonese/Mandarin is optional but advantageous;
