BNYMellon is seeking a Business Development Analyst. Responsibilities include:
  • TheBusiness Development Analyst will be the primary internal support and point ofcontact for Sales Representatives covering the intermediary and sub-advisoryinvestment channels
  • Theincumbent will provide; reporting support, comprehensive sales support,pre-meeting due diligence on prospects and clients, assistance and coordinationfor successful new client on-boarding, competitive analysis associated withprospects.
  • Theincumbent will also work closely with other departments such as ProductDevelopment, Marketing, Portfolio Strategist team, and Finance on behalf of theexternally facing staff. He/she will be cross-trained on all aspects of clientspecific requirements and serve as a backup ensuring seamless service.
  • S/hewill be expected to attend client and prospect meetings with SalesRepresentatives and be asked to represent the team in a client facing mannerunder certain scenarios
  • S/hewill continuously expand knowledge of the firm's product line, industry trends,current compliance guidelines competition and new business process to provideconsistently higher value assistance to the sales team.
  • S/hewill run CRM queries in support of the new business process, build and maintainprospect lists, and review supporting data as part of the prospecting/duediligence process. The incumbent will generate follow-up correspondence tomaintain and grow relationships as well as execute mailings and other outreachcampaigns to prospects, clients and consultants.
  • Inaddition, s/he will provide competitive analysis of the sub-advised andintermediary universe
  • S/hewill have the opportunity to participate in projects as needed and as deemedappropriate
  • Theincumbent will work with other areas across the firm to follow up withprospective clients (i.e. contract status, AS, W-9, etc.) and/or executingnecessary new business related tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Thisrequires learning the legal and investment issues surrounding our clientrelationships as well as client service internal policies and procedures.
  • He/shewill coordinate the preparation of meeting and proposal materials identifyprospects Further, there are situations/circumstances where the individual willbe offering securities. The individual will conduct research on clients orprospects to provide relevant information to externally facing staff and trackand maintain pipeline ad activity information.


Qualifications

  • Thecandidate must have 3 to 5 years of institutional investment industryexperience.
  • Bachelor'sdegree, CFA/CAIA designation (or progress towards designation) or advanceddegree preferred. The candidate must be energetic and self-motivated, with theability to work well under time constraints. Strong analytical ability anddemonstrated sound judgment in dealing with institutional clients.
  • S/hemust be highly organized with a keen attention to detail, and must possessexceptional technical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mustbe a registered rep (holding Series 7 and 63) or willingness to obtain within90 days of hire.
  • Thecandidate will be offering private placement products through MBSC SecuritiesCorporation.
