Customized Taxable Portfolios Team:

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Credit Research Analyst to join the Customized Taxable Portfolio team. The team is responsible for managing over 2,500 customized separately managed accounts. In aggregate the team overseas approximately $10 billion in assets across these accounts. The team manages these accounts on behalf of clients which range from high net worth individuals and families to small corporations and foundations.

The Taxable Portfolios Team manages two strategies:

1) C-TAX, which manages separately managed accounts that invest in US dollar denominated investment grade and high yield (primarily BB-rated) corporate bonds.
2) C-PREP, which manages separately managed accounts that invest in US dollar denominated preferred securities and deferrable subordinated debt with a focus on the financials sector (banks, insurance, brokers, etc.)

The Credit Research Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing fundamental credit research, real time updates/relative value, and oversight for the issuers and industries over which they have coverage responsibility
- Identify and pitch new investment recommendations he/she deems appropriate for investment in the portfolios
- When appropriate, be able to speak with internal partners (investment advisors) and clients about your industry or issuers for which you have a fiduciary responsibility

The Customized Taxable Portfolio team is part of the Customized Bond Solutions Platform (C-BoS) which oversees $25 Billion in assets under management.

  • In addition to having a strong credit research background, the Credit Research Analyst must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate his/her thoughts to the team and clients concisely

  • Team player with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment


The successful candidate will possess:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in credit research: investment grade, high yield
  • Familiarity with technology and capital goods sector is helpful
  • Some buyside experience is preferred
  • Bachelors' degree required
  • MBA/CFA viewed positively, but not required
