ASSIGNMENT Security Capital Research & Management Incorporated ("SC-R&M") is a boutique investment management firm that focuses on investments in securities of exchange-listed and private real estate operating companies, both domestic U.S. and global. Wholly owned by JPMorgan Chase & Co., SC-R&M has over $4.5 billion in assets under management and is one of the largest real estate securities investment managers in the U.S. The firm is based in Chicago and has 26 professionals. The Position The Investment Analyst/VP will work closely with senior SC-R&M investment professionals, providing analytical support to critically assess, analyze and value public real estate operating companies. The Investment Analyst will perform detailed discounted cash flow modeling, prepare briefing materials for review by the Investment Committee, and participate in on-site meetings with management teams, as well as property visits and other underwriting and due diligence activities. The position is based in the Chicago headquarters. Limited travel is required. Qualifications The successful candidate will likely possess:
- 3-5 years of work experience in a finance or consulting-related role;
- Experience in the application of finance and valuation principles;
- An interest in the real estate industry;
- Outstanding quantitative, analytical and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail;
- A strong work ethic; and,
- A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in finance or a related field, with a strong record of academic achievement. Completion of or work towards a CFA Certification is desirable.
