The Relationship Manager will be responsible for growing all aspects of relationship and research coverage initiatives for his or her defined client accounts. This position will develop a platform that provides fosters all related business development, client support and retention efforts for NYL Investments' major intermediary clients from home offices through field. This role will be instrumental in partnering with sales professionals to broaden our relationships and providing a more comprehensive client experience with NYL Investments.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leads efforts to drive product approvals, recommended/focus list and investment model placement with each client
  • Functions as National Sales Manager for firm, develops excellent relationships with senior executives of our largest retail clients, as well as NYL partners: sales management, advisor consultants, marketing, product, boutique Client PMs, PMs and CEO.
  • Holds established relationships with leaders at client firms outside of home office personnel.
  • Executes proactive and creative contact initiatives that identify and satisfy client needs
  • Promotes and reinforce NYL Investments value proposition in all facets of clients' experience
  • Ability to masterfully disseminate investment strategies of complex multi-boutique asset management organization
  • Synergizes relationship and research efforts to promote holistic client-focused orientation
  • Leverages Retail field sales, incorporating field feedback into ongoing initiatives.
  • Works closely with Product Development and Product Management for new product launches.
  • Partners with Product Marketing in supporting campaigns through home offices.
  • Advises and updates sales leadership on client firm goals, evolution, new structures and personnel.
  • Owns value added content suite to effectively represent NYL Investments brand to gain advocacy across client firms.
  • Holds credibility and recognition of having distribution and sales expertise.
Position Requirements
  • BA or BS degree in business, economics or similar advanced degree: MBA or CFA
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in investment management industry.
  • Prior experience covering Firm's most important and complex clients.
  • Prior experience in platform sales and/or relationship management within retail distribution
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multi-faceted initiatives, think strategically and influence key stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively follow-up and resolve issues required.
  • Broad knowledge of the intermediary investment industry, securities markets and investment relations also required.
  • Deadline orientated, with effective time management skills.
  • Holds established relationships with leaders at client firms outside of home office personnel (i.e. CIOs, Research Analysts, Key Contacts).
