New York Life's primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations.

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women's markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

This role sits within Eagle Strategies,LLC, a registered investment advisor firm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of New York Life and is based in New York.

Role Overview
The Head of Portfolio and Investment Consultants will be responsible for leading a group of Portfolio Specialists and Internal Consultants with the ultimate goals of providing superior advisor support to help them attain their personal goals as well as the departments.
  • Achieve qualitative & quantitative goals in the areas of Advisor experience, sales and retention of top advisors
  • Manage day to day investment consultants' activities
  • Set staffing and sales strategy
  • Work closely with the Relationship Mangers on the Advanced Service Model team
  • Provide guidance and set strategy for the group:
    • New client business acquisition through marketing, book of business, and Centers of Influence opportunities
    • Provide expertise in technology (i.e. Envestnet, Morningstar direct)
    • Case analysis & design support to advisors in a concentrated territory
    • Point of sale client meetings, in conjunction with the advisor, to drive case implementation.
    • Teaming & coordination with product consultants to ensure that there is a properly designed product to fit the identified needs of the client.
    • Ongoing consulting & client reviews with Eagle Advisors.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (Finance), CIMA, CFA, CFP, ChFC, MBA, Preferred
  • Series, 7, 65 or 66 (63 Combination)
  • Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience
  • Understand and appreciates the concepts of protection, investment, retirement, & estate planning
  • Strong understanding of Investment Advisory Services and offerings
  • Understanding of how to drive advisor productivity through comprehensive support model
  • Drive key agency metrics & understands the impact of the value of new business to Eagle specific operating earnings
  • Ability to communicate to Executive Officer level management, including the CEO of Eagle Strategies
