Corporate Credit Analyst & Municipal Credit Analyst
New York, NY
Ramirez Asset Management (RAM) is seeking a Corporate Credit Analyst and a Municipal Credit Analyst each with between 1-3 years of prior experience. Each role requires performing fundamental and market research on corporate bond issuers or municipal bond issuers and issues, along with related credit monitoring functions, and assisting Portfolio Managers. Research is both qualitative and quantitative in nature. Work product includes written reports, statistical analysis, and assisting in periodic reporting to clients.
Credit Analyst Responsibilities
- Analyze corporate credits throughout the corporate bond universe
- Make investment recommendations and monitor corporate credits held in client portfolios
Municipal Analyst Responsibilities
- Analyze municipal credits throughout the credit spectrum in multiple sectors
- Interpret market and policy developments and impact on trading book and retail accounts
Common Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to internal and external requests for information
- Attend client review or prospect meetings as needed
- Perform other duties & responsibilities as required
Common Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with a focus on finance and economics
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg skills, and CreditScope skills
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a credit analyst or relevant investment experience
- Basic knowledge of fixed income securities, economics, public finance, financial statement analysis, and the market for corporate bonds
- A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- A strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to reason
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
