Associate Investment Specialist

Working with M&G Prudential as an Investment Specialist means becoming part of a brand with a global reputation and an exciting vision: to become the best loved and most successful savings & investments business.

The forthcoming planned de-merger of M&GPrudential from the Prudential Group PLC provides a terrific opportunity to create a truly international and integrated savings and investments firm. A firm built on a rich and long history and with a commitment to an innovative future centred on the needs of customers and clients. There is a genuine opportunity to drive competitive advantage with value creation through the formation of this new organisation.

If you're inspired to join us, and have the necessary qualities, then this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist the UK equity franchise on a day to day basis on client and business related activities.
  • To identify and analyse relevant market and portfolio data for inclusion in presentations and marketing materials as directed by the UK equity team and other Investment Specialists; this would include working on market commentary and writing regular client reporting materials.
  • To help create new/improved materials to articulate investment strategy through research of competitor strategies and products
  • To act as an investment team point of contact, providing data and fund analysis on an ad-hoc basis.
  • To work with the investment content team writers to assist with the articulation of investment strategies and RFP responses, and reviewing and amending investment content and data.
  • To support other Investment Specialists where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and improve the efficiency and quality of output through regular reporting channels.

This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of, or keen interest in, financial markets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to build good relationships with existing team members, fund managers, and the key contacts in the distribution and business support channels
  • Proactive nature and intellectual curiosity - above all a self-starter
  • A good writing style, and solid analytical and statistical skills would be desirable
  • Proven organisational and time management skills - able to manage a wide range of tasks and shifting priorities

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Although a degree is not essential the candidate will be expected to study for the IMC (if not held) and ultimately the CFA qualification if desired.
  • Powerpoint, Excel and Word to an advanced proficiency

People who work at M&G Prudential agree that ours is a great place to work with a brilliant team spirit. M&G Prudential is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our role as an employer is very simple - to provide the right environment for talented people to do their best work, by respecting, understanding and valuing individual differences.

We welcome applications from individuals who have taken an extended career break, and we are willing to consider flexible working arrangements for all of our roles.
