Investment Grade Corporate Trader

JOB SUMMARY: Breckinridge Capital Advisors is seeking an experienced investment grade corporate bond trader. In this role, you will collaborate closely with portfolio managers and analysts to execute corporate bond trades across SMA and institutional strategies. A successful candidate will be able to synthesize market information to generate and present trade ideas to the investment team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Execute corporate bond trades consistent with our best execution and risk management practices, as well as our policies and procedures.
• Ensure the accurate and timely investment of client portfolios while adhering to investment guidelines.
• Gather, analyze, and disseminate market and security information to portfolio managers and analysts in order to identify actionable investment opportunities.
• Manage and develop sell side relationships and third-party trading systems.
• Provide back-up trading support to other fixed income sectors including government, securitized, and taxable municipals.
• Collaborate on internal technology projects to enhance firm capabilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrates motivation, an entrepreneurial mindset, and an ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong quantitative and financial technology skills (Bloomberg, trading platforms, Excel.)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships and act as resource for colleagues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Possess a minimum of 2-5 years of experience trading investment grade corporate bonds, preferably at a buy-side institution.
• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in finance, economics, or an analytical discipline.)
• MBA and/or CFA designation, or demonstrated progress towards either, is preferred.
