Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Performance of UOBAM, the successful candidate will join a team responsible for providing risk and performance oversight and analysis within UOBAM. In this role, you will also be expected to assist in developing and implementing new tool or system to facilitate efficient risk and performance monitoring and reporting.
Key responsibilities of this position are as follows:
  • Ensure adequate end-to-end processes and tools are in place to perform independent risk and performance review and analysis of client portfolios;
  • Be responsible for monitoring and reporting of all portfolios' risk and performance profiles, highlighting areas of performance and risk concerns to senior management, Investment Committee and Board;
  • Work closely with Investment team and Business Development team in shaping the firm's investment process and product development;
  • Be involved in the user requirement studies and user acceptance test for risk and performance systems;
  • Liaise with vendor on system requirements and data issues;
  • Liaise with internal IT and data manager on report generation, systems and data issues.


Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years hands-on working experience, preferably in the fund management industry as a performance and/or risk analyst and/or data analyst. Past experience as a programmer will also be considered.
- Possess strong analytical and quantitative skills;
- Programming and database skills in Python, R, VBA, SQL, Access are preferred;
- CFA/FRM/CIPM or Financial Engineering will add advantage to the application;
- Must be able to process data accurately and efficiently with patience and persistence;
- Possess the ability to kick-start and see-through process improvement initiatives so as to enhance work efficiency and productivity;
- Be able to work well under pressure, tight time constraints and a good team player;
- Good written and oral communication and presentation skills;
- Previous experience with systems such as, FactSet, Morningstar, Lipper, Northfield, Barclays POINT will also provide the candidate with an earlier head start.
