Position Description:

PIMCO is seeking an equity analyst to help analyze, recommend, and monitor investment opportunities utilizing both quantitative framework and fundamental analysis. The analyst will be a dedicated member of the Long/Short Equity investment team based in Newport Beach:

• PIMCO Long/Short Fund employs an opportunistic investment approach with a focus on balancing capital appreciation and risk mitigation.
• The candidate will utilize quantitative framework to assist in investment decisions (i.e. sector allocation and securities selection) and conduct rigorous fundamental bottoms-up research for assigned sector coverage
• The Fund benefits from PIMCO's macroeconomic insights, global research resources, and quantitative capabilities

Major Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth company analysis and develop successful investment ideas
• Develop investment recommendations for the lead Portfolio Manager based on quantitative framework and fundamental analysis within the analyst's coverage universe
• Proactively communicate changes / updates on existing portfolio holding

Position Requirements:

• 5+ years post MBA in equity research
• Buy side experience preferred
• Intellectual honesty and humility
• Enthusiasm for finding compelling short opportunities as well as longs
• Strong academic pedigree
