S&P Global is seeking an experienced analyst to join its Structured Finance Ratings group as a Director in the Structured Credit practice. The practice provides credit ratings of structured products that are backed by pools of nontraditional assets; this role will focus specifically on transportation securitizations.
The Director will be an integral part of the analytical team, which is responsible for cash flow modeling and structural analysis in support of new issue ratings and surveillance of Nontraditional ABS transactions. The Director will review documents, assess the credit profile of collateral pools and conduct cash flow analyses to stress test the structures and enhancement levels under various economic scenarios. The Director will also participate in credit rating committees and interact with bankers, issuers and investors on analytical matters. Additional duties include supporting research, criteria or other analytical activities.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded individual who possesses strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, which are essential for engaging with market participants. They should also possess strong Excel skills, time management and project management capabilities.
The Director's core responsibilities will center on cash flow and structural analysis of Nontraditional ABS transactions as follows:

  • Serve as primary analyst on select credits. Work includes analyzing cash flow characteristics of collateral pools and conducting detailed reviews of legal and operating documents to ensure compliance with criteria and identifying issues with the transaction structure.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical excellence and thought leadership to internal and external audiences and maintain and enhance the quality and timeliness of our analysis.
  • Adhere to analytical guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Lead/contribute to criteria development and implementation as necessary.
  • Prepare a variety of material suitable for publication externally (such as rating reports, press releases, and commentaries) on a timely basis.
  • Represent Standard & Poor's at meetings with senior management of existing or new clients as well as at education meetings or seminars on analytical matters.
  • Participate in investor outreach activities.

Required:
  • MBA, JD, or CFA degree with 7+ years' experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in transportation ABS (i.e. aircraft, container, railcar) preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, financial models and financial data.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and their relationship to S&P Global products.
  • Ability to analyze and solve non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner.
  • Effective communications style and strong interpersonal skills to represent S&P at management meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team.
  • Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
  • Strong organizational skills, execution mindset and ability to delegate effectively
  • Have the ability to undertake rigorous analytical work and be proficient at writing analytical reports.
  • Possess the ability to think analytically; to collate information into reasoned arguments.
