Job Description
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for coverage of Rates, FX and Credits within the Latin America markets and will be based in the firm's Minneapolis or New York office.
Responsibilities
* Perform in-depth country analysis and research, managing independent research projects as required.
* Perform relative value analysis for a variety of security types (rates, FX, USD Credit).
* Analyze and integrate trends into actionable recommendations, gathering relevant data as appropriate.
* Incorporate macroeconomic analysis into research recommendations.
* Perform financial modeling of macroeconomic, microeconomic and country (political, structural) information and assumptions.
* Interact with policy makers, attending meetings and conferences as needed.
* Contribute to global strategy discussions, including daily market meetings.
Required Qualifications
* BA/BS degree economics or finance.
* Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) completed or in progress.
* 5-10 years of work experience as an analyst or portfolio manager focused on rates, foreign exchange and sovereign credit for an Institutional asset management firm.
* Communication and relationship skills to appropriately influence decision making and share ideas with Portfolio Managers and Analysts within Columbia Threadneedle.
* Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to perform company, economic analysis and forecasting, including proficiency with software tools such as Excel, R, Python and other data analytic tools.
* Relationship skills to work successfully across the Columbia Threadneedle organization and to interact with company management teams, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master of Economics or MBA degree in Finance.
