What you'll do:
  • You will work closely with colleagues across the global manager research team to ensure identification of best of breed managers, including supervising and mentoring junior team members
  • You'll participate on the Manager Review Committee with oversight of recommendations across asset classes
  • Be responsible for building relationships with investment managers and act as a point of contact to provide information about the managers to members of the SEI Global Market Units
  • You will play an active role in developing SEI's intellectual capital around Global Manager Research
  • Engage in strategic business development initiatives
  • Contribute to and promote SEI's external image through presentations, thought leadership and communication
  • You'll be responsible for conducting in-depth due diligence through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess manager skill. Due diligence will include data analysis, manager conference calls and on-site visits, and preparation of written due diligence reports
  • Analyse manager portfolios to understand drivers of risk and return, alpha composition and the robustness of the strategy in various market environments. The analysis is focused on assessing a manager's competitive advantage versus its relevant peers
  • Compose cogent, refutable investment theses for recommended managers, focused on investment edge
  • Accept accountability for recommended manager decisions

Your role will be one of player/coach. You will carry a long-term responsibility to help further develop and implement a process driven culture in a constructive fashion. Delivering convictions with an open mind and the ability to work well in a team environment is essential.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • You will have extensive experience working in Manager Research for a Fund Manager
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) qualification required
  • You will possess prior experience in team management and talent development
  • Fixed Income asset class experience essential
  • You will demonstrate excellent investment judgment
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership
  • Strong process orientation required
  • Experience in portfolio management or statistical modelling a plus
