Chief Risk Officer - Investment Bank - Luxembourg

One of the largest Investment banks in Europe are seeking a Chief Risk Officer. The firm is looking for an experienced risk specialist to pioneer the risk division for the bank following their post Brexit growth strategies. This is an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of the Risk function and join the C-Suite executives in the establishment.

Responsibilities for this position:
  • Provide guidance and support risk teams on all types of financial risks, including market risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, pricing and valuation risk, concentration risk
  • Operate the groups risk governance structure within the region and different business functions
  • Provide leadership, advice, guidance, and direction to the Regional Risk Team and take responsibility for all hiring and people related matters.

Skills/attributes required for the role
  • Masters in subjects such as Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Physics or Statistics are beneficial
  • 15 years' experience in the Risk Sector
  • Solid finance knowledge of financial instruments.
  • Over 10 years' experience with tier one investment banks.
  • Professional certifications either as a Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, Professional Risk Manager or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to translate the understanding of regulatory and internal principles and policy into more complex actions and output including the creation of exposure metrics using or developing a model, development of practical processes, establishing methodology for determining risk exposure limits.
