We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Investment Manager, Asset Allocation.

Principal responsibilities​
  • Under guidance of Group Insurance Chief Investment Officer, recommend tactical asset allocation and hedging strategies within the risk limits regarding the definition of the strategic asset allocation, taking into consideration, Group Insurance's investment strategy at global and local levels, the return targets, competitive environment, risk appetite and limits of the entity, the profiles and sensitivities of the projected cash flows or ALM requirements, and the regulatory capital, economic capital, tax and accounting impacts of the recommended strategies
  • Support Group Chief Investment Officer develop tactical asset allocation framework for the management of the insurance portfolios. Tactical asset allocation framework will be used at both Group and Entity level where possible.
  • Collaborate with HSBC Global Asset Management to ensure timely and effective implementation of asset strategy. He or she will also challenge, review and facilitate the asset allocation decisions across the board.
  • Develop, advise and facilitate derivatives strategies for efficient portfolio management and hedging purposes. Develop a robust, consistent and prudent derivatives strategy platform to support business strategy and portfolio management.
  • Participate in the strategic asset allocation process and to support existing and new investment products for meeting return targets.
  • Keep abreast of global developments in the capital markets and insurance industry and changes in regulatory, actuarial and accounting regime, particularly in relation to insurance investment management and financial reporting.
  • As invitee to the Group Insurance Investment Committee and provide support and advice. Collaborate and cooperate with Group Investment at both local and global levels.


Qualifications
Requirements​
  • University graduate with solid experience in investment industry, preferably insurance companies or institutional investors, and additional professional qualifications in Financial, Actuarial or Investment, CFA or FRM can be a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and financial modeling background is preferred. Hands on experience of building Tactical Asset Allocation models for institutional portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with sophisticated derivatives instruments, solutions and applications.
  • Hands on experience and proven expertise in investment management, including managing funds for an insurance company or retirement business, ideally in an asset allocation role.
  • Broad exposure to, and expertise in a variety of asset class, including equities, fixed income, as well as derivatives and structured products, coupled with strong understanding of Insurance business and regulatory constraints.
  • Familiarity with risk management measures like VaR, tracking error, credit exposure limits.
  • Innovative strategic thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills; including ability to think outside the box and conceive solutions to complex issues
  • Excellent communication skills and English proficiency
