Position: Financial Analyst
Position Type: Full time
Location: Downtown Vancouver - Suite 215 – 625 Howe Street, Vancouver BC, V6C 2T6
Overview:
The Financial analyst is responsible for all aspects of the companies’ business valuations, which is an essential component of each respective company’s acquisition and sale process. The analyst is accountable for all reporting aspects including valuation reports and business modelling as well as coordinating and interfacing with brokers and clients on all aspects client file analytics, valuations, market research, business plans and more. Working in a relatively easy going and rewarding environment, the Financial Analyst will develop this department to its own profit center driving growth to both the department itself as well as the company.
Primary Duties Responsibilities Include:
- Perform valuation analysis on small to medium-size privately-held enterprises across a broad range of industry sectors
- Prepare financial analysis questionnaires and communicate with clients directly or indirectly for management guidance on normalizing and projecting core financial statements
- Research macroeconomic and industry trends and private transaction data
- Prepare valuation reports
- Participate in client presentations upon request
- Support the preparation of detailed business plans and or profiles
- Support in the preparation of marketing target lists, list scrubbing etc.
- Assist in general related administrative activities as required
- Develop and innovate new tools, systems and processes that enhance the job and performance of the company
- Support and maintain existing tools, software, systems and processes as required
- Effectively communicate with all staff, brokers and clients
- At all times perform and act in the best interest of the company
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the company as published and altered by the company from time to time
Required Attributes and Qualifications:
- Post graduate degree in business and or economics and or finance with CFA or CBV designation (Minimum acceptable is CFA Candidate Level 3)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay abreast of specific related knowledge and skills
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Proven good understanding of all core financial statements and basic valuation concepts, models, theories and applications
- Rational thinking and a balanced judgment
- Strong quantitative skills
- Proficient is MS Office suite and general hardware and software knowledge
- Above average proficiency of Excel including Macros and VBA
- Knowledge of other programming language may be an asset
- Proven business modelling and analytical skills
- Ability to perform multi-tasks under timeline pressures
- Strong work ethics and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated, and consistently striving for excellence
- Effective team player with respect for fellow team members
- Accurate, punctual and exceptionally well organized.
Remuneration:
- Remuneration is commensurate with education, skills and experience and includes private health insurance plan benefits. Range is $45,000 to $65,000 – Profit sharing and equity participation options available.
