POSITION

The Global Relationship Group, GRG, has an opening for a Business Development Analyst, BDA. Business Development, BD, is charged with the responsibility of knowing the market of institutional investors and bringing in additional assets for the firm to manage. In addition, BD is charged with maintaining strong relationships with the consultant community worldwide. A great deal of preparation goes into every meeting, finals presentation, and proposal to our prospective clients.

BDAs are tasked with gathering information, generating analysis, and creating materials to make each meeting a success. In addition, the BDA must collect information necessary to create and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, including maintaining the latest industry information and providing extensive analysis on current prospects. The role requires frequent communication with the Relationship Management and Consultant Relations arm of GRG, Product Management, Legal Services, Compliance, Finance, Wellington Funds Group, Portfolio Management, and Client Reporting.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The BDA will work closely with the Business Developer on the following:
  • Generate presentation materials, briefing memos and collateral materials for prospect and client meetings
  • Qualify Requests for Proposal and work with Product Management and the Client Reporting team to ensure that each RFP receives the appropriate response
  • Maintain BD territory and  reports on current prospect and client activity
  • Work with the Relationship teams, Legal, Finance, Product Management and Senior Management to qualify opportunities  including resolving any issues surrounding contracts, fees and MFNs
  • Assist with analytics and competitive analysis
  • Serve as a contact for prospects/consultants and for Wellington Management colleagues in this territory
  • Generate and analyze extensive quarterly and semi-annual reports
  • Perform business management and strategy work
  • Support marketing efforts including managing internal and external materials, working with third party vendors on research initiatives and requests and coordinating webinars, special events and industry conferences.


QUALIFICATIONS

The Business Development Analyst will work in a team environment with constant deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent judgment, the ability to learn quickly and multi-task. The job entails extensive written and analytical work, thus proficiency using both Microsoft Excel and Word are required. A large portion of the work is self-directed and requires an individual who can work independently under tight time constraints.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with preference given to candidates with progress toward the CFA designation, MBA or other graduate level degree. The candidate should have at least three years prior experience in the investment industry. A positive attitude, very strong attention to detail, and sense of humor are absolutely required.
