Role Description

Animus Capital Partners is seeking up to three (3) top-caliber candidates with previous Investment Banking deal experience for a position in Calgary, AB. The member will be an integral part of the team and have exposure to multiple facets of investment and merchant banking. A minimum of 3-5 years direct investment banking experience is required for this role. More on roles below. 

The role of the Associate / Vice President / Director will be to:

• Support the deal team by researching and analyzing financial information relating to companies and industries
• Complete due diligence reports on current and prospective clients
• Create complex financial models and perform valuation analysis as per client/industry standards
• Support in the creation of marketing/pitch materials internally and for clients
• Assist the deal team in managing processes from origination to execution; often multiple projects and transactions at any given time.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Relevant industry experience (Associate: 2+; VP 4+; Director 6+) in investment banking, private equity, or another deal-related role (candidates for any of the roles with less than 2 years direct investment banking experience will not be considered)
• A self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset who has the ability to take initiative
• An Undergraduate (or higher) degree with a core focus on finance, economics, or accounting; a proven record of achievement is desirable
• High proficiency in financial modelling, MS Excel (other MS Office products), and financial database programs (FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.)  
• Excellent analytical/quantitative skills and knowledge of corporate finance, accounting and valuation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A demonstrated interest in the industry through academics/prior work experience/extra-curriculars
• A working knowledge of the oil and gas industry is considered an asset.
