The investment research manager will be a contributor to the Investment Committee with manager research responsibilities across a broad set of public and private markets.  The position requires the candidate to be interested in working across asset class strategies with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with client service teams.  We expect this person to be able to identify and highlight manager and portfolio risk and opportunity through rigorous quantitative analysis.

Desired qualifications and background:

  • Bachelor's degree required, business or finance/economics emphasis preferred
  • CFA and/or CAIA designation strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manager due diligence role
  • Excellent analytical skills with eagerness to research various investment strategies
  • Maturity and well-honed interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities/resourcefulness
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative and proven project ownership skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities to manage numerous job duties and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player mentality and experience

Responsibilities may include:

  • Build and conduct investment manager analysis and due diligence
  • Attend / lead investment manager meetings
  • Research / write clear and concise investment recommendations
  • Design data-driven dashboards to highlight risks and opportunities
  • Communicate investment manager information to Investment Committee and client teams
  • Leverage analysis and consolidated reporting warehouse to support client and investment teams
  • Enhance and improve investment manager due diligence and monitoring processes

Preferred skills and/or experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; Power BI considered a plus
  • Experience with FactSet, Morningstar or other investment database
  • Prior experience with hedge funds and/or private equity considered a plus
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a related investment role preferred
