Chief Investment Officer - HEALTHCARE

Employment Type: Contracted Annually on a Retainer - ideal for board executive or healthcare fund managers with available time

Investment Management Office Location: South London, England

The Chief Investment Officer would be a leadership role at a HEALTHCARE Property Fund. He/She will be responsible for developing, implementing investment strategy and philosophy, assist in strategic fundraising, to lend credence to a fully established distribution team lead by a versatile principal. The successful candidate will have 10+ years' experience in HEALTHCARE investments in the UK.

The successful candidate will have a very close relationship with the CEO and thus will be involved in the company organisation as well as steering the investment strategy.

Duties:

  • Liaising with professional advisers to assure compliance
  • Assisting in the preparation and dissemination of an investor package (inclusive of term sheets, fact sheets, financial reports, and other collateral) in connection with the raise;
  • Speak with prospective investors to solicit their participation in the raise; (telephonically)
  • Implement, a comprehensive, proactive investment strategy and documentation
  • The role involves exposure to the health care property sector in the UK

Who We Want: The Chief Investment Officer will lead the Investment Committee and investment platform team members. This position will be a key member of the leadership team, contribute to firm leadership and strategic vision. The Chief Investment Officer will represent the HEALTHCARE Property investment and all related offerings to advisors and retail clients. 

What You Bring

  • Manage and grow the HEALTHCARE Property Fund with a focus on advisor experience, client experience, AUM growth, and scaled efficiencies
  • Lead investment strategies in theory and paperwork, ensuring an optimal portfolio of offerings, periodic product diligence, and continuous performance tracking
  • Provide support to existing Portfolio Managers and strategies, and identify new teams and strategies to acquire as value-adds Mostly importantly a pedigreed track record. Motivate and lead a high performing team; attract, recruit and retain stakeholders
  • 10+ years of experience at a large asset manager, fund company, or platform
  • Experience leading an investment committee, and managing asset managers, platform managers, investment strategists, and consultants.

 The ideal candidate would have experience of the following:

  • Built or scaled a platform, while making decisions around a number of strategies, manager partnerships, platform positioning for advisors/clients, and pricing
  • Transitioned advisor books of business to new models and strategies
  • Oversaw first-time and ongoing due diligence for new and existing strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of industry

Location and Travel: Travel will be biannually for road shows only, to represent Healthcare Property Fund

Preferred Education and Experience

  • CAIA, CFA or CFP designation or candidate preferred;
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, law, or related disciplines, with an advanced degree or certification, preferred, e.g. MBA, CFA;
  • 10+ years of experience dealing with investors with demonstrated success of raising capital, exceeding $50MM+;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credibility with both external partners and internal stakeholders at all levels of the company.
