We are seeking a full-time Investment Banking Associate to work in our Houston, TX office. The Investment Banking Associate will work closely with senior bankers to execute transactions and/or advisory assignments on behalf of the Firm’s clients. The successful candidate will provide analytical, quantitative and process support for the team.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Build and maintain complex financial models
  2. Assist with project work, develop and prepare marketing presentations, analyze client equity and fixed income portfolios, research current trends and assist with trading and offer general client service and team support
  3. Conduct due diligence for potential transactions
  4. Prepare pitch books and presentations for client meetings
  5. Organize and prepare drafting sessions and road show presentations
  6. Interact with clients in meetings and throughout live transactions

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  1. Bachelors degree (preferably in finance, business or mathematics) with outstanding academic performance that demonstrates strong analytical background and quantitative skills
  2. 2 to 4 years of direct work experience in Energy Investment Banking with experience performing financial modeling and valuation for upstream, midstream, downstream and services companies
  3. Working knowledge of deal structuring and closing principals
  4. Experience managing due diligence process in M&A transactions
  5. Active Series 63 and 79 licenses and employment at one of the energy investment banks as a mid-level associate.
  6. In-depth understanding of the fundamentals of accounting and financial statement analysis, and hands on experience with financial modeling and corporate valuation analysis
  7. Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts
  9. Advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint
  10. Enthusiastic team player
  11. Houston-based or Houston roots preferred

Compensation:

  1. Bonus dependent on group earnings, with no minimum allocation as is typical at investment banks
