Client Portfolio Manager

WEDGE Capital Management is a boutique investment advisory firm offering value equity and fixed income strategies.  As of year-end 2018, assets under management stood at $10.5 billion for a mostly institutional investor client base.  Established in 1984, WEDGE is currently owned and operated by 18 active General Partners and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The firm is seeking a Client Portfolio Manager who will be responsible for working and developing relationships with clients, investment consultants and prospects.  The role will require the ability to clearly communicate our investment processes and portfolio positioning while also building upon existing and new relationships for the firm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage and build client relationships by conducting in-person investment meetings
2. Market and communicate the firm’s investment products to designated consultants (field and research professionals)
3. Strengthen the relationships with investment consultants by developing and executing proactive, creative and ongoing contact
4. Coordinate development of effective investment marketing materials and performance reports with team members
5. Review RFP and investment database responses, when necessary
6. Make finals presentations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum of 5+ years of experience
2. Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional presence with demonstrated ability to build relationships
3. Strong communications skills, including verbal, written and listening; ability to convey credibility and confidence
4. Team player who is self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to support others
5. Well organized, flexible and proficient at prioritizing
6. Proven commitment to excellence

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree required
2. MBA preferred
3. CFA or progress toward CFA charter preferred
