Summary

This position is responsible for all external communications, for promoting Jensen and its services, increasing brand awareness, defining and communicating value differentiators to clients and potential clients, and leading all efforts related to internal and external outreach through project and distribution development, management, and delegation. This position requires integration with Sales, Private Client, Investment Teams, Data Teams and the Compliance Department.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the following areas: managing a Marketing team to create and launch world class campaigns; brand creation; public relations; product marketing; digital marketing; and management of external vendors. Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to self-motivate are essential. Requirements include knowledge of the firm’s domestic (long only) products, philosophy and process.

The position is based in Lake Oswego, OR. Outsourced CMO solutions will not be considered.

Essential Duties

  • Direct the firm’s marketing strategies across all channels
  • Development and promotion of firm’s brand and promotional activities
  • Manage and direct the Marketing team and vendor network

Job Duties and Requirements

  • In partnership with internal stakeholders, develops and implements strategic marketing plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
  • Develops and manages marketing operating budgets.
  • Plans and oversees digital advertising and promotion activities including print, online, and electronic media.
  • Collaborates with internal teams on product positioning strategy.
  • Oversees and evaluates marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitors competitors and marketing activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product vehicles, promotional materials, and events.
  • Directs marketing forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control marketing programs.
  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates marketing distribution by establishing marketing goals and target audiences.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications or similar field from four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in Marketing, or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of modern and current digital marketing practices, including social media.
  • Knowledge of creative, web development and SEO best practices.
  • Previous experience in financial industry; experience with mutual funds and separate accounts and associated regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Ability to work independently and direct a team.
  • Communicate effectively with all Jensen clients and employees.
  • Strong presentations skills.
