Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The Performance Reporting Associate position is based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for all reporting aspects of the region's performance, including but not limited to maintaining all final performance data for the region at an asset and portfolio level, maintaining/managing all reporting functions to internal clients and external industry reporting associations such as ANREV and MSCI, as well as coordinating responses to investor requests for historical and projected performance. The role will be part of Global Performance Management team (headed by Global Head of Performance in the US) with a focus on APAC.

The successful candidate will also be expected to identify and capitalize on opportunities to create efficiencies and value by developing and sharing best practices consistent with globally accepted performance measurement standards. The role is intended to allow for talented and motivated individuals to work with limited oversight and ultimately serve as an expert in performance measurement and analytics area, ultimately providing insights to investments strategies.

This role will have a chance to work with colleagues in other regions and function teams in Invesco, and external parties in the industry.

 

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Maintain internal performance data using Invesco's internal data systems such as Yardi, Yardi Performance Module (scheduled for deployment in APAC in 2019/2020), Microsoft Excel, SQL or any other tools available
  • Work with Global Performance colleagues and industry organizations on developing the regional reporting and analysis platform consistent with the Global Performance group
  • Co-ordinate with external index providers such as ANREV and MSCI in relation to the firm's participation in industry indices, including raw data submissions and verifications
  • Help drive the group's technology platform geared at onboarding new software, housing internal/external data sources, and creating technical efficiencies in reporting processes.
  • Maintain and modernize processes for all internal/external performance data requests in APAC; develop and maintain framework / database for providing data for RFPs and client questionnaires
  • Be a subject matter expert on performance measurement, analytics and industry measurement standards such as GIPS and other regional/global reporting standards keep abreast of new industry compliance directives.
  • Work closely with supporting colleagues in Hyderabad by managing and developing processes for projects, data initiatives and regular reporting deliverables directed at supporting the group's initiatives.
  • Measure and monitor performance against a variety of benchmarks or performance indicators including: client objectives, benchmarks or market indices run by relevant organizations such as ANREV, MSCI, ARES and other references available in the market etc.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Global Performance team, sharing best practices and shaping platform initiatives.
  • Actively contribute in the testing and implementation of new performance reporting software
  • Work closely with Global Performance team in developing performance analytics for mandates under management by Invesco Real Estate to provide meaningful findings and insights to the business

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Working experience or knowledge in performance measurement area, or holder of relevant qualifications e.g. CFA or CIPM an advantage

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Excellent command of English
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate complicated numerical concepts with easy-to-understand ideas for the relevant audience
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, financial modelling and database; skills in Bloomberg a plus though not a must
  • Experience with Yardi and Yardi Performance Module a plus

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • An undergraduate degree holder with at least 3-5 years of working experience in financial or real estate industry
