Equity Research Associate - Consumer Products

Jefferies Equity Research is seeking an experienced research associate to join our team covering the consumer products industry. The Associate will act as a lead associate to support a Senior Analyst and will be part of a team that conducts extensive industry, company and macroeconomic analysis.
Responsibilities

Associate will work directly with the Senior Analyst on:

• Research strategy, positioning, development, authorship and commercialization
• Modeling financial statements and conducting fundamental research
• Writing timely & actionable research reports on public companies
• Tracking and analyzing industry themes, news, data and trends
• Maintaining relationships with company and industry contacts
• Interacting with institutional sales, corporate, and buyside clients
• Attending industry events (some travel may be required)

Qualifications


Individual Qualifications

• Intellectually curious, a self-starter, tenacious, and interested in the consumer industry
• Strong listening, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills are required to be effective
• Strong Writing and Financial modeling skills (writing & modeling sample will be collected in second round)
• General knowledge of finance and accounting
• Excellent analytical ability & familiarity with spreadsheets
• Ability to synthesize, simplify, and present complex information to a wide audience
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable development and maintain relationships with team members, buy-side clients and corporate contacts
• Team oriented, collaborative, and highly motivated

Preferred Experience and/or Accreditations

• CPA and/or CFA certifications
• Equity research, private equity, equity sales or investment banking background
• Consumer industry experience helpful, but not required
