Investment Analyst

M3F, Inc. is an SEC registered investment adviser based in Salt Lake City, UT.  M3F serves as the adviser to M3 Partners, LP, a long/short investment fund that focuses exclusively on the publicly traded financial services sector, with an emphasis on community bank and thrift stocks. The fund is managed using in-depth fundamental analysis and a travel intensive research process where meetings with management and geographic analysis are a core part of our strategy.

We are seeking a highly motivated investment analyst to support the portfolio managers through research, identifying investment opportunities, and analyzing existing investments. In addition to investment analysis, the successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of the firm including operations, investor communications, reporting, and trade support. 

The position requires initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, resourcefulness, and strong analytical abilities. A strong passion for the stock market and investment analysis is required, and experience with making investments in the banking or financial services sector is beneficial.  A degree in accounting, finance, or economics is preferred, but we value motivation, strong reasoning, analytical ability, and a proven passion for investing over scholastic achievements.
