In this role you will be monitoring, analyzing and interpreting regulatory policy developments in relation to capital adequacy, large exposure, leverage ratio and liquidity as well as advising on New Business Transactions and other complex Transactions with regards to the regulatory treatment.

Your Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory policy interpretation and/or provision of regulatory consultancy
  • Detailed knowledge of the Swiss regulatory capital framework with a focus on Basel III capital adequacy, leverage ratio and large exposure rules
  • Good understanding of financial products and trading strategies
  • Knowledge of global accounting standards (US-GAAP and IFRS) and European and/or US capital framework would be helpful
  • Ability to analytically apply this knowledge in practice to complex transactions, attention to detail
  • Effective and confident communicator 
  • Good presentation and writing skills (PowerPoint & Word are used)
  • Accounting (CPA), Financial Analyst (CFA) or Risk Management Qualification (FRM) would be a plus
  • Fluent in English, German would be an asset

Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as contact for regulatory policy interpretation questions arising in the implementation of new regulations across the globe
  • Read and analyse new regulations, compare with the current regulations and present the key changes
  • Identify stakeholders the changes would need to be presented to and provide support with interpretation
  • A key role in the definition of an internal capital reporting policy framework for which you keep abreast of external developments, analyse impacts of new rules and define in-house interpretations
  • Analyze the BCBS 424 “Basel III: finalizing post-crisis reforms” with a focus on judgmental topics; analyze different national options
  • The opportunity to practice your presentation skills and ability to explain complex regulatory subject matters in regulatory update sessions and in internal working groups
