The Global Risk & Analysis Group of Morgan Stanley Investment Management is looking to fill a senior level position with broad knowledge of Risk Management across the main risk types: market, operational, counterparty, and liquidity. This position reports to Investment Management's Head of of Multi-Asset & Cross Investment Risk.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor macro-level market trends and emerging risks, along with product exposures, to analyze potential impacts across the platform
Collaborate with risk teams covering Equities, Fixed Income and Multi-asset Class products
Provide analysis/risk reporting to support various Committees, Boards, and Senior Management
Manage risk projects and initiatives across a wide range of risk-related topics: exposure aggregation, limit monitoring, liquidity, regulatory leverage, derivatives, etc.
Monitor counterparties and exposures across OTC instruments, collateral and security lending
Collaborate with internal groups such as Information Technology, Compliance, Legal, and Derivatives Operations on matters related to risk controls, self-assessments, incidents and infrastructure projects
Provide risk management advisory support to internal groups including request for proposal (RFP) response and Investment Management Agreement (IMA) guidance, as well as negotiation of trade documentation such as ISDA, MRA and MSFTA

Qualifications:

SPECIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in risk management
Degree in a technical field such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research.
MBA, CFA, CAIA, or FRM is considered a plus but not required
Strong, broad knowledge of investment risk management across all asset classes, including Fixed Income, Equity and Alternatives (Hedge Funds, Managed Futures/CTAs, Fund of Funds, Private Equity/Real Estate)
Strong knowledge of derivative instruments both from operational and investment risk aspects
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills required (both verbal and written); previously demonstrated ability to build relationships with front office and business leadership
Experience with database and programming languages such as SQL and VBA is desirable
Knowledge of global buy-side regulations and best practices
Familiarity with front office risk management applications preferred
