Job Summary

Experienced Investment Analyst to undertake financial research and report on prospective investment avenues. The successful candidate will study how an investment is likely to perform and how sustainable it is. You will participate in our portfolio-management strategy by providing the necessary data for our decision-making process.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

The Analyst can expect to focus in the following areas:

  • evaluating macroeconomic data
  • researching companies
  • analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • utilizing press releases, earnings conference calls, company presentations, and financial filings (10Qs, 10Ks, etc.) to evaluate corporate strategy
  • creating financial statement pro formas and constructing valuation models
  • writing financial research summaries
  • making informed recommendations

Qualifications

The Analyst position typically requires the following qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in financial analysis, with a preference for investment research and analysis (2-3 years minimum)
  • Be creative, intellectually curious, self-starting and possess a strong work ethic
  • Build, critique, and refine financial models (company, industry, economic, statistical, and asset allocation) with strong financial, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong use of Bloomberg, Excel and other financial analysis software
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, distilling complex subjects into actionable decision scenarios
  • Have strong interpersonal skills including participating in spirited give-and-take discussions about his/her work, while interacting at multiple levels both inside and outside the organization
  • Prioritize effectively in real time, multi-task, and have strong organization skills
  • Possess strong judgment to form independent points of view on investment risks and opportunities
  • Strong, relevant academic credentials (BA/MS) in quantitative analysis (economics, accounting, finance, math, engineering, etc.) or qualitative analysis (journalism, psychology or related field)
  • MBA candidate and/or progress toward the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Interest and/or experience in a particular industry (technology, energy, telecoms, utilities, etc.) also a plus
