About the Role
Working within the Asian Equities Fund, with particular focus on Southeast Asia and India, you will learn from industry leaders such as Qiao Ma (Asian Equities Portfolio Manager), Johny Tan (Head of Southeast Asia and India) and Peter Cooper (Managing Director/Chief Investment Officer) on a fund that has a strategic growth trajectory.
The role will provide an exciting opportunity to:
- Develop a deep understanding of the CI Way of investing
- Develop accurate, thoughtful and timely analysis on assigned companies in accordance with the CI Way. Conduct forecasting, modelling and analysis of company characteristics
- Conduct thorough analysis on assigned companies or industries using desktop research, expert networks, company conference calls and visits
- Over time, originate investment ideas consistent with the CI Way
- Assist with marketing activities and various internal research projects, as directed by the Portfolio Manager or CIO
- Other special projects or dealing as directed by the Portfolio Manager and CIO
About you
You have an undergraduate qualification in commerce, finance, accounting or a similar discipline usefully coupled with a qualification and/or appreciation for humanities or engineering – you’ll stand out from the pack as a diversified thinker, a trait we highly value. Pride yourself on being a passionate investor with at least 2 years’ industry experience in funds management, investment banking, accounting or consulting organisation. Demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and rapport building capability with colleagues, clients, industry contacts, information providers, brokers, investee companies and their competitors. A keen commitment to travel to Asia at least five times per year. Although not essential, some local Indian or Southeast Asian linguistic skills would be advantageous.
