Functional Role:
1. In conjunction with the Executive Director Investments formulate/provide inputs and lead the implementation of the investment strategy in line with QDB’s vision, mission and corporate objectives
2. Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.
3. Work in close coordination with the Executive Director Investments to develop and implement subsequent leading practices across all activities/operations comprising Investment Division.Promote efficiencies in work processes, ultimately resulting in increased customer satisfaction and better returns on capital employed
4. Lead and direct the management of change through continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices
5. Supervise direct and in-direct reports in performing an in-depth financial and data
analysis and due diligence for potential investments including financial modelling,
customer analysis, market sizing, customer mapping and industry research
6. Proactively source candidates / receive referrals and prepare the closing documentation for new Investment arrangements
7. Prepare Non-disclosure Agreement, letters of interest, data request list, all the document relating to the investment case and liaise with internal departments to assist in the due diligence process
8. Oversee development of financial models relating to financing, restructurings, valuation analyses and liquidity events 9. Evaluate companies, shortlist, prepare recommendations and forward the same to the Executive Director Investments for approval
10. Present the final company snapshot to the screening committee in close coordination with the Executive Director Investments
11. Oversee the drafting of the deal structure, discuss share buy-back and employee stock options with the management of the company and coordinate with the legal department to prepare legal documents
12. Guide the team to prepare a list of non-qualified companies and present the same to the Screening Committee with supporting reasons
13. Discuss the deal structure with the Executive Director Investments and negotiate the terms with the candidate company
14. Monitor the KPI’s , 100 day plans and finalization of the closing documents
15. Guide the team in presenting the deal structure to the investment committee and liaise with the legal department to complete the legal documentation
16. Obtain official ownership and board representation documents and liaise with the internal departments to release funds and to advertise the successful deal closing
17. Monitor implementation of corporate governance mechanisms, progress & KPIs and provide strategic support to portfolio companies as and when required
18. Guide the team in gathering information, conducting cost benefit analysis of the exit options and presenting the same to the Executive Director Investments
19. Work with the team to prepare the structure of the exit deal and guide the team in preparation of the exit documentation in close coordination with the Legal Department
20. Oversee identification of potential buyers, negotiate the terms and conditions and agree on sale execution and transfer protocols in close coordination with the Legal department
21. Guide the team in day to day operations relating to the Investments department
22. Guide the team in preparation of regular reports and presentations on finance and administrative activities and present the same to investment partners, board members and senior management
23. Prioritize and complete the tasks/ responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director Investments on a priority basis
24. Oversee the implementation of functional policies, procedures and controls in order to ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with risk, audit, and regulatory requirements
25. Maintain highest standards of professional conduct, ethics and integrity in the provision of services and ensure the same is complied with appropriately across the department.
26. Allocate work to subordinates, nominate for training as per QDB’s guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.
27. Participate in the identification of training and development initiatives for all subordinates
28. Drive the engagement and satisfaction of all employees within the department through holding periodic meetings to discuss the achievements and address any employee issues and/or concerns.
29. Supervise direct and in-direct reportees in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and counselling. Provide recommendations to HR & Admin on hiring and promotions

Required Qualifications: *
 MBA or Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance from a reputed university
 Background in VC or private equity, investment banking or strategy consulting
 Knowledge of equity, fixed income and alternative investments
 Extensive knowledge of the banking sector in Qatar and the region, including the market trends
 Experience with Arabic is preferred
Preferred Experience:
 Minimum of 11-12 years of relevant experience
