PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Investment Management Operations Manager – Equities (IMOM) will manage the team of high-performing associates that are responsible for providing operational support to T. Rowe Price Portfolio Managers (PM), Portfolio Specialists (PS), Investment Analysts (IA) and Research Analysts (RA). This team enables the investment process through activities including supporting new product and client onboarding activities, producing customized investment, performance and cash flow reporting, coordinating corporate action decisions, communicating discretionary trades, reviewing investment guidelines, establishing paper portfolios, maintaining custom industry structures, reviewing investment and performance reporting for accuracy in advance of client meetings, coordinating GIPs composite maintenance activities, benchmark management, preparing committee materials and serving as the operational conduit for the firm into Investments.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Translate Investment Operations and Investment Division strategic imperatives and regulatory mandates into actionable objectives, goals and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Investments, Distribution, Reporting, Compliance and Operations teams to achieve T. Rowe Price’s strategic imperatives
  • Actively manage and mitigate operational, reputational and financial risk through robust risk management practices, operational controls and by establishing/monitoring KPIs
  • Identify process simplification opportunities; leverage technology solutions to automate non-value adding manual processes to achieve optimal efficiency and scale
  • Partner with, and influence business leaders within partner organizations to develop operational support processes for new products, services, distribution channels and new or emerging regulatory mandates

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College degree and 4 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 6 years of related work experience, or high school diploma/equivalent and 8 years of related work experience.   
  • Thorough understanding of mutual fund middle-back office operations, in two or more of the following functions: portfolio accounting, trading/post trade, corporate actions, performance measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement efficient and risk controlled operational processes and fostering a culture of continuous process improvement
  • High-level understanding of asset classes, investment principles, financial markets and regulatory bodies and implications on investments
  • Solid change leadership skills – ability to understand the mechanics of a change and the impact to the individual
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills and the ability to deliver results and propose alternative and/or creative solutions

Preferred

  • 10+ years of investment management operations experience, 5+ years of direct leadership experience
