Grassi Investment Management was founded in 1984. We are an independent investment advisory firm seeking an entry level, full-time Associate Portfolio Manager. This position offers opportunities to gain skills and experience in a professional, challenging and dynamic environment. The Associate Portfolio Manager will report directly to the firm’s Head Portfolio Manager. We are seeking an analytical, motivated and self-driven person to join our collaborative team.

 

Job Summary:

The Associate Portfolio Manager has the responsibility of managing existing client relationships, formulating and implementing advice and may rely on technical specialists to develop recommendations within a given area of expertise.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Research on economic and market conditions and trends
  • Research on asset classes, individual investments and investment strategies
  • Investment model construction, management and maintenance
  • Account trading, management, monitoring and rebalancing
  • Preparation and participation in delivery of financial services

Desired Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in investment management and/or financial advisory services with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and client relationships
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, or have passed the CFA level-one exam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as financial planning software 
  • Demonstrated experience in networking and building business relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and an intellectual curiosity
  • Client-first attitude
  • A team player, with strong coaching and leadership skills
  • Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
