Associate Director

The Team: The successful candidate will be part of the global Financial Services team. 
Description: The Associate Director will analyze financial information and strategy from financial institutions and data necessary for rating determination. They will make recommendations to the rating committee, prepare material for ratings publication, and effectively communicate to clients S&P Global methodology and procedures that do not involve fee discussions, negotiations, or arrangements. 
The Associate Director is also responsible for meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters and will assist in resolving clients’ analytical needs and assessing the client’s quarterly financial projections.

The AD will analyze the situation/data/information utilizing appropriate methodology, criteria factors, and standards.
The AD should be an active, vocal voting member in rating committees
The incumbent will publish articles.
The Associate Director should be able to synthesize their analysis into well-reasoned and well-supported rating recommendations
The Associate Director should communicate with analysts, managers, and staff at all levels in the organization in ways that help to ensure a smooth and efficient analytical work process.
The AD will develop a thorough understanding of S&P’s policies, procedures, criteria and S&P’s approach to key analytical issues of the rating process
The AD is responsible for training others and helping them resolve difficult day-to-day analytical issues and problems.


University graduate on Economics, Administration, Accounting or similar.
5years+ experience of conducting credit analysis in the financial services sector.
Deep sector experience in analyzing banks or non-bank financial institutions.
Good understanding of the role of a modern rating agency is preferable.
Proven ability to think analytically; the ability to understand and evaluate complex issues and collate information into reasoned arguments.
Demonstrable ability to manage one’s own time, while working effectively under pressure and within a team across different locations.
Highly developed communication and influencing skills (oral, written and presentation).
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Fluent in English
