Job Description

The Portfolio Analyst supports the Portfolio Management team in the implementation of investment strategies within an assigned group of client portfolios. The role spans a broad spectrum of portfolio management and technical tasks but focuses on “touching the portfolios” and communicating issues to the Investment Team. The PA monitors client portfolios daily and facilitates responses to client requests. The PA is the point of contact for preparation of periodic and ad hoc client reporting packages and other analyses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare client-facing communications, including periodic reporting packages via Advent APX
  • Configure and maintain Family Office portfolio models
  • Build customized financial models in MSExcel for analysis of various client situations
  • Execute trades in equities, fixed income and mutual funds as directed by senior management
  • Ensure timely post-trade and periodic reconciliation of portfolio management models
  • Update Portfolio Management models monthly and quarterly, as well as pre- and post-trade
  • Additional portfolio research requests from Portfolio Management and Client Advisory teams on ad hoc basis upon request

Education / Skills

  • Undergraduate coursework in accounting, finance, statistics, computer science, economics or mathematics
  • 2-4 years of investing experience
  • Solid understanding of portfolio accounting
  • High proficiency with MSExcel
  • Deep interest in investing and the financial markets
  • Strong work ethic, pride of ownership and flexible work schedule
  • Detail oriented, good communication skills and a collaborative personality
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg is a plus a but not required
  • Strong sense of integrity
  • Participation and progress in CFA Program is strongly encouraged
  • Firm grasp of Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) and Addepar is strongly preferred
