Job Purpose:
Asia Markets FP&A team provides:
  • Analysis and review of financial performance, especially drivers, trends, and the competitive environment, to enhance understanding thereof on the part of Markets and Finance Senior management, regulators and other shareholders
  • Insightful analysis as the foundation for strategic decision-making, resource allocation and performance management
  • Tools, analytical capability and data to support thoughtful planning and target setting, as well as to drive business initiatives
Job Background / Context:
  • This position resides within the Markets and Securities Services FP&A team supporting Asia ex. Japan region
  • The team provides a wide range of analytic support to the M&SS senior management regionally and also provides regional support Global markets product FP&A teams
  • The key stakeholders are the AxJ Markets and Securities Services head and the regional product heads as well as regional finance management
  • The role will work in close partnership with other FP&A teams and the Mumbai CSC to meet FP&A deliverables
Key Responsibilities:
Based upon the Job Purpose described above, the key responsibilities are:
  • Manage a small regional team and work closely with various FP&A teams (country, product and ICG workstreams) as well as the Business to provide timely financial information to the business heads to facilitate effective and informed decision making
  • Manage FP&A activities for the 6 key product lines and 13 countries that comprise Asia ex Japan M&SS
  • Build a strong working relationship with Markets, Product and Function heads across the region
  • Collaborate closely with ICG FP&A workstream teams to ensure accurate and thoughtful financial outlooks, Mid Year Forecasts, annual Operating plan and periodic CCAR submissions for Markets and Securities services business
  • Liaise with Markets Head to prepare M&SS Level business and strategy presentations, townhalls and other reviews
  • Spearhead business expense control, analysing allocation / cost drivers, developing saving / optimization plan, monitoring strategic investment progress and return.
  • Work in conjunction with controller and business teams understand actual results and performance versus plan / forecasts
  • Be the point of contact for the business heads to address various finance issues beyond the typical FP&A activities by coordinating with other finance functions (controllers / treasury) and providing comprehensive advisory and recommendations for the businesses

Qualifications

Knowledge / Experience:
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Markets and Securities Services businesses / products
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in FP&A or related Finance field
  • Working in a role with multiple stakeholders
  • Able to manage teams across geographical boundaries
  • Exposure to key FP&A Systems (Pearl, GDW, IFW, Jade etc) and data sources / hierarchy (DSMT)
Skills:
  • Be able to navigate, analyze and synthesize vast amounts of complex data to draw out meaningful conclusions and insights
  • Be able to communicate complex ideas, processes or business performance via Powerpoint
  • Be able to manage your own time amidst competing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in a Finance or economics discipline.
  • CPA or other accounting qualification is advantageous
  • CFA, MBA or other post graduate qualification will be viewed favorably but is not required
