The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) safeguards confidence and stability in British Columbia´s financial sector by protecting consumers from undue loss and unfair market conduct.  FICOM is a regulatory agency of the British Columbia Government. FICOM is responsible for administering nine statutes that regulate the pension, financial services and mortgage brokers sectors in British Columbia.

As the Managing Director, you will act as the relationship manager for central credit unions that provide support and services to BC credit unions. In this role, you will serve as the key account manager and maintain accurate and up-to-date risk assessments, and lead reviews and monitoring activities for assigned institutions. As a member of the Financial Institutions Division management team, you bring progressive management experience in a risk and/or regulatory environment within the financial services sector.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in a field related to business, finance, economics, law or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree and/or professional designations (CFA, FRM, CPA, ICD.D, C.Dir) are preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ progressive management experience (staff and projects) in a risk and/or regulatory environment within the financial services sector.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with credit union and/or banking experience.
