Job Description:
This role will involve all aspects of credit research as the lead analyst for one or more sectors. These include: i) financial modelling and analysis, ii) communication with investors, salespeople and traders, iii) trade idea generation, and iv) publication of insightful and creative company and industry reports. The successful candidate will have an excellent grasp of financial analysis and a demonstrated ability to cope with and deliver multiple projects under time constraints. Coverage is likely to include investment grade, crossover and high yield credits in the relevant sector(s), with a particular emphasis on higher beta situations.

Job Description
  • Research and information gathering to gain a deeper understanding of companies and industries under coverage.
  • Analyse financial statements and trends to reach conclusions regarding companies' underlying credit quality.
  • Interpret and analyse market, economic and political events.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models.
  • Produce written reports analysing or anticipating material credit developments and explaining recommendations.
  • Present trade ideas and credit analysis to investors, salespeople and traders.
  • Day-to-day contact with investors, salespeople, traders and company management teams.
  • Identify high value coverage opportunities as they arise.
  • Contribute to industry and company research reports with colleagues across the Global Research franchise.

Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelors' degree with outstanding academic qualifications.
  • ACA (or other accounting qualification), CFA, or Masters - desirable.
  • Strong accounting and financial modelling skills are required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills as well as ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced level of MS Excel.
