We have an opportunity in our Buenos Aires office for an Analyst to manage a portfolio of bonds and equity funds assessments in Latin America. This is a challenging role to provide insightful analysis and to respond to investors' inquiries.

The Analyst will lead and monitor regional bond and equity funds' portfolios and will be responsible for detailed credit analysis of funds, reports and asset managers covering management strategy, operations, competitive environment, business risk and legal framework.

The Analyst will provide initial rating recommendations for new issuers as well as recommend changes to ratings of existing funds to a rating committee.

This opportunity involves developing an in-depth knowledge of asset managers, bond and equity funds, capital markets in the major markets in Latin America and writing thought-leading research on them and related topics in the region. An essential part of the rating process is to manage effective interaction with key market participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused research on the asset management industrywide credit trends
  • Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis at rating committees
  • Develop Moody's franchise through intermediary marketing and visibility initiatives (e.g. conference participation, outreach activities)
  • Build strong working relationships with asset managers' senior management

Financial Institutions Group - Managed Funds

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience gained from asset managers, banks, insurers or proven equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree required, CFA professional qualification would be highly beneficial
  • Fluency in English and in Spanish (oral and written) is essential
  • Strong financial modeling skills and advanced knowledge of Excel and Access are required
  • In-depth understanding of the Argentine and Latin American capital market s , bond and equity fund as well as their regulatory and macroeconomic environment. Ability to interpret funds' prospectuses and other legal documents; demonstrated ability to interact with senior level executives (Fund Managers, CFO, CIO, Risk Managers, Treasurer). Manage relationships with issuers, investors and intermediaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare written analytical judgment
  • Public speaking skills
