SWIB’s Investment Operations and Fund Accounting Division is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to perform a variety of complex financial, technical and research activities, with a focus on derivative processing, collateral management and securities lending/borrowing.

Essential activities:

  • Monitor and stay abreast of SWIB investment policy and industry and regulatory changes/events impacting exchange traded as well as cleared and bilateral OTC derivative trading and collateralization
  • Perform daily reconciliation and calculate margin for futures, options and/or other investment instruments
  • Oversee derivative reconciliation, valuation and collateral agreement activities performed by a third party
  • Assist in implementing new derivative instruments and developing related procedures and control activities
  • Monitor securities borrowing/lending activities and the processing of corporate actions and resultant changes to loans, communicating issues to the administrator and agreeing appropriate course of action
  • Serve as an operational resource to the investment and legal staff in the drafting and execution of agreements (ISDA, CSA, MSFTA, MRA)
  • Identify and elevate issues to process owners, service providers and other interested parties, informing them of the issues/events and helping minimize adverse impacts
  • Serve as a data steward to ensure accurate data is delivered to stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, or related
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in finance, accounting or related industry (five years’ preferred)
  • Knowledge of financial securities markets, language and products
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

The position requires U.S. work authorization and residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Madison, Wisconsin area. SWIB is prepared to offer relocation assistance as needed.
