What is the Program Marketing team responsible for?

Are you ready to join Franklin Templeton's Program Marketing team in working with leading financial institutions to transform how financial advisors invest and manage their clients' money? If so, we would like to have you on the team as we develop and deliver award-winning marketing content.

The Program Marketing team is a newly-created group that seeks to combine the agility of a start-up with the resources and reputation of Franklin Templeton.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Sr. Product Content Marketing Specialist?

In addition to being a gifted storyteller, you're a strategic thinker who will play a vital role in the ongoing promotion, positioning, and engagement of the Franklin Templeton model portfolios and support ourstrategic product partnerships.

With an eye towards increasing engagement and sales, you'll drive the development and implementation of high-impact, innovative, and eye-catching marketing content , which will allow the Program Marketing team to better address the specialized needs of our partner firms, along with their financial advisors and clients. The role will work closely with the Franklin Templeton marketing, sales, and national account teams .
  • Lead the development of compelling and engaging client-focused content that is leveraged across multiple channels - social, email, web, and print.
  • Translate complex products and concepts into digestible and actionable stories.
  • Innovate by actively identifying opportunities to enhance our marketing efforts by exploring new and impactful promotional and engagement ideas.
  • Establish success metrics, measure engagement, and recommend enhancements.
  • Use "smart data", including client insights, web/e-mail metrics and investor behaviors to enhance the effectiveness of communications and client-facing content.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with business partners - both internal Franklin Templeton teams (Sales, National Accounts, Client Insights, Portfolio Management, Corporate Communications, Transfer Agency, Legal, among others) and external partner(s).
  • Maintain proficiency in the model portfolio products, as well as an awareness of the model portfolio marketplace and competing products.
  • Help define and develop our content marketing strategy via web, social, and other digital channels.
  • Complete ad-hoc or special projects as necessary.

What ideal qualifications would help someone to be successful ?
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in Communications, Journalism, English, Finance, or Marketing; MBA preferred
  • 4 or more years of prior financial services, marketing communications, and/or product management experience
  • Knowledge of the investment management industry, retirement and college savings plans, and investor and financial advisor product and marketing needs
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines, and standards is critical (SEC, FINRA, MSRB); prefer expertise in SEC advertising rules and NASD Rules of Fair Practice
  • Series 6 and/or Series 7 license(s), CFA, and other industry qualifications/licenses highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven creative and project management skills; experience with marketing production process; strong organizational and analytical skills
  • A strong desire to build relationships and work with key members of multiple departments throughout the organization to accomplish common objectives
  • Provide leadership to team members, including providing project direction to associate level staff
